Implementing Casino-wide Information Systems

Implementing Casino-wide Information Systems

The implementation of new information systems is no easy process. This could benefit any organization or company re-hauling their data collection or simple business tactics and internal maneuverability. Certainly at a casino there are components unexpected and ensuring each member of your team succeeds in following the proclaimed direction, it is pivotal that a strict regiment of education and trial and error is afforded. First, one must work through all levels of management and provide a wealth of information which will trickle down into those working in the lowest tier jobs at the casino. Naturally, each job is of as much importance as the next, but this system of understanding and passing on gives every employee the chance to make mistakes and correct them. On the floor, you have your dealers, your bar-keeps, waitresses, security and all other under-the-radar posts that make the roulette wheel go round. Launching each casinos modern information system is a slowly and carefully curated process because it involves so many very vulnerable issues. One could bring up casino security. This process is important in preserving exactly what retains a casinos investment and longevity. All parties thus have to be on board. How will they adapt to camera placement, or even approaching cheaters and swindlers. Does security have enough information passed down from camera workers to successful detain a suspect without a scene? These are all important parts of a casinos new information system implementation. I find that these often come with problems. I’ve been gambling before and I can see that either security is not in touch with their role or some new worker took a step over his allotted boundary and is paying the price both because customers saw this and because he will hear about it from his manager. Anyway, i cannot stress any further the importance of a casinos information system and I hope these levels of awareness...

Information Systems and Data

Information Systems and Data

That’s the name of the game. Nothing more can be said than data. Big data and small data. All of it is so significantly relative to the successes of your internet experience. Information systems in this regard focuses on the networks of software users have with which they are able to process and create data.  This component of navigating the inter-web, from communicating from one to another person, to storing and retrieving information. Data, as far as I know, rules the world. The ability to navigate statistics and human action. These abilities are certainly novel to modern comprehension, but they are being developed and used so readily that from articles to policy-making, data is the king. It’s funny, today you can get degrees and achieve a long and fruitful career with no more than the ability to critically analyze data. Now, that is no easy feat, but it is still accessible for many with a bit of interest and patience. Data in many cases gives the beholder a higher comprehension of chances. In that regard, I must acknowledge the importance it holds in casinos. Data gives casino owners and managers a leg up on how their customer is prone to act. How much chance should we allow, or even what aesthetic would most likely get this or that clientele to spend more money. For a casino, data equates to a money making dream. Naturally, chance with a heavy hitter allows the ability to tough blow, their invariably pervasive control over all numbers at play, from people to games played. For the gambler, from blackjack aficionados to texas hold’em experts and even slot or roulette players, data through information systems can very well be on their side. However, it takes extensive research to ever come to this result. Also, tapping into available information is tough. But, if you play a conservative game and read your average opponent, with which data can certainly help, you’re much more likely to succeed in winning that...

Computer’s High Stakes Poker Game

Computer’s High Stakes Poker Game

One might find this post a little outlandish, but I will argue here the nature in which a computer plays poker itself. In its system of gambling, trial and error, chance and all else, the computer systematically approaches your own level of usage and affords an equitable reward for one’s level and understanding. The rewards and depth system is one I came up with, but it successfully measures the extent to which the individual might approach the complexity of the internet. Coding coding coding. If you can handle that, then you’re approached almost an expert level of computer competence. With this prestigious hand in the poker game, one can manipulate and achieve almost what they wish, with enough time and effort. As if it were literally a game of cards, your luck and favor changes with diligence and knowledge. That is to say, were I to approach the world series of poker, even with my experience, I’d be tossed out on the lawn before the second hand is drawn. I enjoy poker quite thoroughly, and I am not afraid to say it. My poker competence does not directly correlate to my knowledge of the computer and extent there, but were I to measure said competence in this way, I’d be undoubtedly your famed star, your expert enthusiast who cannot get enough. Let’s just say these are my own measures, but hey, what can you do! Computers and the networks and language they are composed of create a systematic game. A game in which variables must be considered. What’s on the line? What if I make this move and my life is on the line because I was gambling too much over the last few weeks? The same might be said for playing poker. You start posting and engaging the internet blindly, as one might be inclined to do so when playing poker. You can end up in the hole in just about no time. Your reputation is tarnished and you become the laughing stock of the internet, hitting blog forums as far as reddit and twitter which openly display your mishaps. My argument is thus here: watch out before you dig a hole too deep to crawl out of. That require nothing more than acknowledging one’s...
